Alexandra is a New York-based writer and journalist passionate about all facets of sustainable living, from cooking with scraps and eco-friendly cocktails to low waste travel and home decor. She's also an enthusiastic home cook and a coffee addict.
Alexandra has over seven years of journalism experience, with more than 100 articles published in outlets including Martha Stewart Living, Saveur, Time Out New York, and Departures magazine.
Experience
As a journalism major in college, Alexandra's first foray into food writing began when she launched her own column in the school paper. While completing her M.A. in magazine writing, she joined the Time Out New York team as a food and drink intern, while assisting as an editor at Spoon University, a nationwide food publication for college kids by college kids. In between classes, she spent time working in a variety of kitchens (aside from her own), including a six-seater Thai fusion takeout joint, a bustling and dimly lit farm-to-table spot, and an often celeb-studded macrobiotic Japanese restaurant.
Education
She received a B.A, in Journalism at the University of Michigan, Dearborn and a M.A. in Journalism and Magazine Writing from New York University.
