My name is Anthony Baker, but people call me “the Professor” because of my passion for mixology and because I teach the average person how to make amazing cocktails at home. This requires me to be a geek about the production, the categories, and even the history behind most cocktail ingredients. The art of cocktails is way more than throwing random ingredients into a shaker and hoping for the best.
Experience
I’ve been in the cocktail industry since 2001 working as a bartender at various high-end restaurants. But it wasn’t until 2017 that I committed myself to the art of mixology while working at the groundbreaking cocktail bar, The Aviary. While I was there I was promoted from bartender to Head Bartender, and then Drinks Tournant, while also working as a consultant and bartending school instructor on the weekends. Shortly after that, in late 2019, I began to focus all my skills toward teaching the average home bartender about cocktails. And this is where the name “Professor Baker” became a household name.
