Save time by using canned beans. Once you try baked beans this way, you'll toss out your old recipe. This is guaranteed to become a family favorite. It is easily made ahead and reheated. You may also double the recipe, but you'll increase the baking time as well.
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Combine beans, barbecue sauce, onion, apples, and mustard. Pour into a glass baking dish. Top with bacon pieces.
- Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and stir in bacon pieces. Return to the oven and bake an additional 30 minutes. Let rest 15 minutes before serving.
- Make this dish in advance, if you wish. Reheat in a 350 F oven about 30 minutes until heated through. Recipe may be doubled, but adjust baking time upward accordingly.
