This apple cider dessert sauce is wonderful on bread pudding and takes 15 minutes to make. 

What You'll Need

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • dash nutmeg

How to Make It

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. In a bowl combine the brown sugar and flour, blending well.
  3. Gradually stir the brown sugar mixture into the butter.
  4. Add the cider to the saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  5. Add the raisins and nutmeg.
  6. Serve warm with bread pudding, pound cake, or other dessert.
