This is a good general rub for any kind of pork, but specifically for large pork cuts. It can be used on a whole hog or pork shoulders to make great Carolina Style Pulled Pork.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup/120 mL black pepper (ground)
  • 1/2 cup/120 mL chili powder (mild)
  • 1/2 cup/120 mL sugar
  • 1/4 cup/60 mL salt (coarse)
  • 1 tablespoon/15 mL mustard (dry)
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL cayenne

How to Make It

  1. Mix together and store in an airtight container.
  2. May be stored for several months in a cool dark place.
