Aside from being a wonderfully eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic storage bags, these reusable pouches are also latex-, PVC-, and BPA-free. The pinch-tight seal keeps air out and makes the bags ideal for storing cut fruits, vegetables, hunks of cheese, and even marinating meats overnight. We stored home-smoked cheese in one and found it left barely any scent inside the bag. The faint odor detected disappeared as soon as the bag was washed.

Made from 100 percent food-grade silicone, these bags are durable and safe to use in the fridge, freezer, microwave, and oven up to 400 degrees. They can even go directly into a pot of boiling water to cook sous vide. We've listed the sandwich size here, which is advertised as holding anywhere from 15 to 28 fluid ounces. The “sandwich bag” name indicates this size’s intended use, and it can hold a surprisingly large volume of a range of perishable foods.

We were able to seal in 26 ounces of water, none of which leaked out when the bag was flipped upside down. The bag seals so well, in fact, that it may take a little practice to grasp it at the right place to open it. Once you find the seal’s release point, the closure releases with minimal effort. While the silicone material is much thicker and therefore bulkier than single-used bags (especially at the closure), we think that will keep the bag in great shape through many uses.

You can find larger versions of this bag, holding up to 104 fluid ounces, for bigger storage needs. The bags come in a range of attractive colors and patterns that will brighten up any kitchen, and don't worry about not being able to see inside—the front of the bag is clear, so you can easily identify its contents.

If you like having cold drinks at the ready, these dispensers can help keep a supply of canned beverages cool without taking up too much room in your refrigerator. Each bin holds up to nine standard 12-ounce soda, sparkling water, or beer cans, and measures 13.5 x 5.5 x 3.75 inches. In our test fridge, each bin almost filled the space from front to back and could sit tightly side-by-side to maximize storage on a low shelf. Unfortunately, the bins won’t stack when filled, even with a single layer of cans.

Made of shatter-resistant, BPA-free plastic, you can keep an eye on how many cans you have left and know when it's time to replenish. As you remove cans, the remaining ones tend to roll forward; since the bins also slide out, you'll never have to reach to the back of the fridge for the last can. Still, she could fit more cans into the same amount of space by neatly arranging them from front to back. Although the bins are not dishwasher safe, they are easy to clean with warm, soapy water.

A standard-issue egg carton does its job of holding its precious cargo as you transport it home from the market, but this container will keep your eggs from being crushed thanks to its sturdy, BPA-free plastic construction. This bin holds up to 21 eggs, and because it's clear, you can easily see when it's time to stock up again—just in time to make more frittatas, omelets, and breakfast casseroles.

The tray can handle extra-large eggs, so smaller ones wobble around a bit. Given the hardness of the plastic, it seems possible to break thin-shelled eggs while taking them in and out of their slots or when carrying a full box of smaller eggs, but we didn't experience this during testing. Just be cautious!

The lid protects eggs from damage while providing a surface that can be used for more storage, taking advantage of any vertical space available. On the other hand, its low profile makes it easy to slip onto a shelf that doesn't have a lot of height. Keep this clean by hand washing with mild soap and warm water.

If you like to have chilled bottles of chardonnay or pinot grigio on hand at all times, then this wine rack is for you. Each of the two pieces holds two standard-size and standard-shaped bottles and can be stacked as needed. The racks are not made for magnum bottles; forcing one in causes the rack to flex and could damage it over time. Made of BPA- and chlorine-free plastic, it can be kept clean by wiping with a damp cloth. If you don't need it in the fridge, it works nicely on a countertop or in a pantry, as well. Naturally, the clear design matches any decor.

Laying the wine on its side takes up more space at the front of the fridge, but it’s the ideal way to store bottles topped with natural corks. Screw-top bottles can be stored upright or vertically, but it can be challenging to find such a tall space in the fridge without narrowing the gap between lower shelves until they’re barely usable. Still, if you have the headspace, you’ll be able to store six bottles upright in the same area where this rack holds four bottles.

Although the pair of racks can be stacked, we think they're particularly useful side by side on the fridge’s lower shelf, which is often set with narrow spacing, to keep side-lying bottles from rolling around. Even then, five bottles could be tucked together in the same space needed for four bottles in these racks.

This rotating tray by iDesign and The Spruce gives you both storage and organization for your collection of condiments and dressings. It has an open, see-through design with high sides that allow you to access your goods while preventing bottles from falling over. As with all turntables, you could probably arrange more bottles in the same shelf space, but the ability to bring the back jars forward without lifting out everything in front of them may make it worthwhile.

Measuring just under 11.5 inches in diameter, it can hold quite a few jars and bottles in a fairly compact space. We like how smoothly the tray rotates in either direction, even when full of heavy jars. It does squeak a bit, and it seems to spin more evenly when balanced with heavier items than when loaded with lightweight ones. The rigid plastic makes it possible to lift the turntable, fully loaded with home-canned goods, out of the refrigerator and carry it across the kitchen. You can keep it clean by hand washing the durable plastic tray with mild soap and warm water.

This multipurpose bin is ideal for keeping like items together, such as containers of yogurt or pudding. Create an entire drawer of deli meats and cheeses, or use it to store packs of chicken or ground beef until you're ready to cook. You can also pull the whole drawer out of the fridge when you're making sandwiches or filling lunchboxes.

If you frequently eat outside by a grill, this drawer would be handy to store all of the fixings you need for burgers or tacos and carry them to the patio table. The bin almost fills a standard fridge shelf from front to back and slides easily across glass, but the small feet on the base catch the shelf edge. Between this catch-point and the bin’s sturdy plastic, you're unlikely to drop the full bin as you pull it out of the fridge.

This bin is also fantastic for corralling miscellaneous items, like tubes of tomato paste and wasabi, so they don't get lost in the fridge or freezer. Since it's made of durable transparent plastic, you can easily see and access what's inside. It can be cleaned with soap and water, and it is tough enough to stand up to daily use.
