Blue Ember Gas Grill Model #FGF50069-U403 - Discontinued

Blue Ember Gas Grill Model #FGF50069-U403
Blue Ember Gas Grill Model #FGF50069-U403 Fiesta Gas Grills, LLC.

The Bottom Line

This grill is loaded with features right down to a bottle opener mounted on the front. This grill plugs into power the internal LED lights and has outlets in the back to let you plug in your radio for some music while grilling. At its heart is a three burner, 45,000 BTU gas grill that has plenty of power and three position cooking grates which give you the ability to get down close to the fire, or position away for a gentler heat. To afford all these features and extras this grill has limits in construction. The stainless steel is low grade and the burners are lightweight. It is an okay grill, but not a great one.

Guide Review - Blue Ember Gas Grill Model #FGF50069-U403

This model has been discontinued.

Fiesta and Blue Ember grills have been bought by Onward Manufacturing Company (makers of Broil-King and Huntington Grills). The fate of this and other Blue Ember products is unknown at this time.

Fiesta has been making gas grills in North America for years. Typically they have produced low priced grills of good quality without a lot of extras. This grill is considerably more money than those grills but loaded with features, many of them rather unique. The three position cooking grates are similar to those used on Broilmaster grills. By turning them around and over you can change the distance between the burners and the cooking surface by a little more than two inches. Since there are three separate grates you can set up different cooking zones. Of course, this could also be accomplished adjusting the burners.

This grill plugs into power the internal LED grill light, "Sonar Que" fuel detection system, and to provide power to the rotisserie motor. Mounted on the back of the grill is a pair of sockets that will let you plug in your radio or anything else you need to power while grilling. In addition to this, you also get an internal smoker box, full function side burner and rotisserie burner (but you have to buy the rotisserie kit for an additional $40), chill-able side table compartment, and a bottle opener. You also get and internal, cast iron smoker box.

This is a good sized grill and well made. The stainless steel is low grade and prone to discoloration and rust, but the assembly is pretty very good. While the fire box is pretty basic all those features add a lot to this grill, making it the ultimate gadget grill.

There have been problems with previous versions of this grill, especially the grease drip tray which tends to rust quickly. As of right now it doesn't appear that there has been much improvement in this area.
