When cooking a deep-fried turkey, you want to get as much flavor as you can into the bird before it goes into the oil. This classic Cajun-inspired injection marinade will tenderize the turkey as it adds flavor.


  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ​Cajun Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Tabasco

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Combine everything in a mixing bowl and blend well.

  3. Thoroughly coat turkey with marinade. If possible work the marinade under the skin over the breasts.

  4. Place turkey in a large container or resealable bag. Refrigerate bird between 8 to 24 hours.
