When cooking a deep-fried turkey, you want to get as much flavor as you can into the bird before it goes into the oil. This classic Cajun-inspired injection marinade will tenderize the turkey as it adds flavor.
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup black pepper
- 1/4 cup Cajun Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons Tabasco
Gather the ingredients.
Combine everything in a mixing bowl and blend well.
Thoroughly coat turkey with marinade. If possible work the marinade under the skin over the breasts.
Place turkey in a large container or resealable bag. Refrigerate bird between 8 to 24 hours.
