This is a great recipe for trout, whether it's freshly caught them or store-bought. Wrapping the fish in bacon not only adds flavor but helps keep the fish moist and tender.


Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Oil and preheat grill.

  3. Rinse out the trout and pat dry with a paper towel.

  4. Salt, pepper, and place a sprig of thyme inside each fish.

  5. Wrap each trout with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

  6. Place trout on the grill or in an oiled grill basket.

  7. Grill 6 to 8 minutes per side depending on the size of the trout.

  8. When the meat turns opaque in the center and easily flakes, the fish is done.

  9. Discard bacon, squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over each fish and serve with tartar sauce.
