This cantaloupe smoothie makes a great summer fruit smoothie recipe when cantaloupe is in season. Freezing the cantaloupe before you make this fruit smoothie recipe makes it icy, like a milkshake.
- 3 cups cantaloupe chunks (about 1-inch pieces)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
- Optional: 1 tablespoon honey
Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
Place cantaloupe chunks on the baking sheet, leaving space between each piece of cantaloupe.
Freeze 1 hour. Transfer to a plastic bag, and freeze at least 1 more hour.
These cantaloupe chunks will keep in the freezer for several months, provided you store them in an airtight, freezer-safe container.
Place cantaloupe chunks in the bottom of a Vita Mix Blender, regular blender or food processor.
Top with remaining ingredients. Puree until smooth.
