Move over, ants on a log! We have two wilder and way cuter celery snacks in line. Use fresh cut fruit and veggies (be creative!) to make adorable snails and caterpillars using celery stalks as a healthy base for your creations.

Ingredients

  • Snails:
  • Celery stalks cleaned and cut into 2 to 4-inch lengths
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Apples, oranges, kiwis, carrots, radishes, cucumbers or tomatoes
  • Cashews or other nuts
  • Candy eyes
  • Caterpillars:
  • Celery stalks cleaned and cut into 2-4 inch lengths
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese, at room temperature
  • Apples, oranges, kiwis, carrots, radishes, cucumbers or tomatoes
  • Candy eyes

Steps to Make It

Make the Snails:

  1. Shave the bottoms of the celery so they have a flat surface to stand.

  2. Fill plastic freezer bags with peanut butter or cream cheese to use as piping bags to fill the celery.

  3. Get creative with your fruits and vegetables, trimming them to create bodies and heads.

  4. Put a dot of peanut butter or cream cheese on the heads to attach the candy eyes.

Make the Caterpillars:

  1. Shave the bottoms of the celery so they have a flat surface to stand. Reserve the shavings to use as antennas.

  2. Fill plastic freezer bags with peanut butter or cream cheese to use as piping bags to fill the celery.

  3. Get creative with your fruits and vegetables, trimming them to create bodies and heads. Use the reserved celery shavings as antennas

  4. Put a dot of peanut butter or cream cheese on the heads to attach the candy eyes.
