Mixologist Allen Katz created this spectacular sake-based cocktail that is very similar to the Cosmpolitan and is ideal for spring and summer parties. I love it because it is a simple mix of flavors and light on the alcohol (Gekkeikan Sake is only 31.6 proof), making it perfect for brunch, showers, and any casual, yet elegant, occasion.
The other aspect I enjoy about the Cherry Blossom Tini is that it, along with the Kyoto Sour and other sake cocktails, show exactly how versatile sake can be in cocktails. For those stuck in a warm sake mode, you will find these drinks refreshing and hopefully it will build a new appreciation for the spirit.
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
