This tangy chicken wing appetizer is best served with a creamy dressing, such as blue cheese or feta. Enjoy these at your next cookout or game day celebration.

  • 2 1/2 pounds/1.1 kg. chicken wings, tips removed
  • 1 cup/240 mL balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup/120 mL olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon/10 mL salt
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL dried oregano
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large green
  • onions, thinly sliced

Steps to Make It

  1. Place chicken in a resealable plastic bag or container.

  2. In a medium bowl combine vinegar, oil, salt, oregano, garlic, and green onions. Pour half of the mixture over wings.

  3. Seal bag and toss lightly to coat. Place in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours.

  4. Place the remaining half of mixture into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 minutes on medium-low or low temperature, stirring often.

  5. The mixture should be a bit thicker but still runny.  Remove from heat.

  6. Preheat grill for medium heat.

  7. Remove chicken wings from bag and discard marinade.

  8. Place wings on grill and cook for 8 minutes, turn and cook for an additional 8 to 10 minutes.

  9. Once wings have reached an internal temperature between 165 to 170 F., remove from heat.

  10. Place cooked wings in a large bowl pour remaining balsamic sauce over the top and toss to coat.

  11. Serve immediately with your favorite creamy dressing.
