Not only is this a great side dish for any meal, but Chatpata Chana Raita is also a terrific on-a-diet dish! Eat a large bowl of it and you'll be filled up, in your stomach and your mind!


  • 2 cups yogurt

  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas (boil with salt to taste)
  • 1 large green bell pepper/capsicum diced fine
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lightly roasted cumin seeds ground coarsely
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powdersalt to taste

Steps to Make It

  1. In a salad bowl, whisk the yogurt well to remove any lumps.

  2. Add all the remaining ingredients, taste and add salt if needed. Mix well.

  3. Chill for an hour and serve.
