This easy Asparagus salad recipe comes together quickly and makes a perfect side dish for the rest of your Chinese inspired meal. It may also be prepared in advance, but do not freeze.

  • 4 cups water
  • One pound asparagus (cut diagonally)
  • 2 tablespoons light​ soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons​ sesame seed oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 clove garlic (chopped fine)

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Bring 4 cups water to boil in a saucepan. Drop in the pound of asparagus. Boil 1 minute. Drain. Rinse with cold water.

  3. Mix next four ingredients in a bowl. Pour over the asparagus.

  4. Serve and enjoy!


The dressing may be kept in a covered jar in the refrigerator for about a week.
