Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips, if desired

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Spray a 1-1/2 cup (12 ounce) microwave-safe mug or cup with a nonstick baking spray containing flour. Then add the chocolate cake mix, peanut butter, milk, and mini chocolate chips to the mug or cup and mix together well with a fork until the mixture is smooth.

  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute for an 800 to 1000-watt microwave oven; 1 minute and 15 seconds for 600-watt microwave ovens and below. The batter will puff up and the surface will look like a cake. ​

  4. Remove carefully from the microwave; the cup may be hot. Put the cup on the counter and let stand on a solid surface for 1 minute, then eat. The cake will deflate a bit as it stands. The cake may have a fudgy layer on the bottom; that's okay!
