It may seem strange, but Nabisco's Oreos actually contain no dairy or animal-derived ingredients. They are not labeled "dairy-free," so they may contain trace ingredients of dairy from processing, so feel free to use another dairy-free wafer cookie, like Newman O's Wheat-Free Dairy-Free Cookies, which I used in the photograph!
Perfect with dairy-free cheesecakes or this Dairy-Free Oreo Cream Pie, you'll come back to this recipe again and again!
- 1 16-ounce package cookies (wafer, such as Oreo's or Newman O's)
- 7 tbsp. margarine (soy, melted, dairy-free)
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly oil a 9" pie plate and set aside.
- In a blender, process the cookies until the mixture resembles very fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and combine with the melted dairy-free soy margarine and sugar until well blended. Press into the prepared pie plate and bake for about 10 minutes, or until evenly browned. Use for dairy-free cheesecakes or pies.
