The Dynamite Shop is a celebrated cooking school for kids that started in Brooklyn and now teaches students all over the world through its live, online and interactive classes. Founded in 2017, The Dynamite Shop is best known for The Dynamite Dinner Club, a weekly class that teaches fundamental cooking skills through the lens of making a hearty, healthy family meal, and The Dynamite Baking Club, where students learn essential baking skills each week. They host online camps for children from 6 - 16 years old, weekend workshops on everything from fresh pasta to cake decorating, birthday parties, pod and homeschool classes, adult/corporate team-building events, and a free Dynamite Community Kitchen class every month that raises money for social justice charities.
Founded by food writers (and moms) Dana Bowen and Sara Kate Gillingham, The Dynamite Shop brings their decades of recipe writing and teaching experience to the curriculum. Dana is a longtime food writer, editor, and cookbook writer who was a reporter and restaurant reviewer for the New York Times Dining section and Executive Editor of Saveur, Rachael Ray Every Day, Martha Stewart Living, and Food & Wine magazines. Sara Kate Gillingham is a James Beard Award-winning food writer with three cookbooks behind her and extensive experience in the digital journalism space. In 2005 she founded TheKitchn.com, an online kitchen and lifestyle community from Apartment Therapy that now reaches 20 million readers monthly.
