The total time it takes a recipe to be ready to eat isn't the crucial part of saving time in the kitchen. The best recipes have short preparation times. It doesn't matter how long a recipe cooks; what matters is the "hands on" time. 

These delicious and easy recipes all have ten minute prep time. That means you'll have to work for 10 minutes, from the time you enter the kitchen until the food is put into the oven or onto the grill (or into the fridge). These recipes are also quite tolerant; you can change the fruits, veggies, spices, herbs, and cheese to suit your own tastes.

  • Tomato Cheese Fish Fillets
    This is an excellent recipe to make when tomatoes are at their peak. Two kinds of cheese adds wonderful taste to this quick main dish.
  • Grilled Pineapple Tarragon Chicken
    Chicken is delicious grilled with pineapple, which is sweet and tart, and tarragon, with a licorice flavor. This recipe calls for marinating time, but you can omit it and the chicken will be delicious.
  • Pork Chops and Peppers
    A simple sauce of chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce glazes the tender pork and sweet peppers in this easy recipe.
  • Steak with French Avocado Relish
    A combination of avocado, French salad dressing, blue cheese, and cherry tomatoes is fabulous on top of juicy grilled steaks.
  • Brie Peach Bruschetta
    This winner can only be made in the late summer, when peaches and tomatoes are at their best. It's such a delicious sandwich and good enough for company.
  • Tomato Pesto Spaghetti
