This is a potion I make when I need a boost. It makes me feel pretty healthy. You can drink it cold or warm. Sometimes I drink it in the morning over ice mixed with seltzer. Drink it at night warmed up in a mug in the microwave.

  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 (3-inch) piece of ginger
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Pinch kosher salt

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Crush the ginger with a pan or a knife.

  3. In a large mason jar, combine all of the ingredients and stir until honey is dissolved.

  4. Drink it immediately or keep it in a glass container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  • Add more boiling water, vinegar and honey to the leftover ginger and cinnamon.
  • Alter the amounts of vinegar, honey and cayenne depending on how sour, sweet, or spicy you like.
