This chili-rubbed flat iron steak is simple to prepare. Serve with your favorite salsa on top or slice and serve atop rice, in tacos, or on top of salad greens.

What You'll Need

  • 2 flat iron steaks, 1 pound (450 g) each
  • 3 tablespoons (45 mL) olive oil
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mL) balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons (10 mL) onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons (10 mL) chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons (10 mL) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) marjoram
  • Black pepper

How to Make It

1. Place steak in resealable plastic bag. Combine marinade ingredients and pour over steak. Work marinade into meat. Seal bag and place in refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours.

2. Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Remove steak from dish, reserving marinade. Place meat on grill and allow to cook for 15 to 17 minutes.

3. When meat reaches desired doneness, remove from heat and allow to sit for five minutes before slicing.

Serve immediately.
