This chili-rubbed flat iron steak is simple to prepare. Serve with your favorite salsa on top or slice and serve atop rice, in tacos, or on top of salad greens.

Ingredients

  • 2 flat iron steaks, 1 pound/450 g. each
  • 3 tablespoons/45 mL olive oil
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons/30 mL balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons/10 mL salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon/2.5 mL marjoram
  • Black pepper

Steps to Make It

  1. Place steak in resealable plastic bag. Combine marinade ingredients and pour over steak. Work marinade into ​the meat. Seal bag and place in refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours.

  2. Preheat grill for medium-high heat. Remove steak from ​the dish, reserving marinade. Place meat on the grill and allow to cook for 15 to 17 minutes.

  3. When ​the meat reaches desired doneness, remove from heat and allow to sit for five minutes before slicing. Serve immediately.
