Get a little flirtatious with this pineapple-flavored rendition of a sparkling cosmopolitan. The flirtini is a great Champagne cocktail for romantic summer evenings or Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve, or any other occasion that you want to celebrate with something a little extra special.

Mix this up just before serving so that the Champagne doesn't lose its bubbles. It may also be best to mix up two or more flirtinis at a time, so you don't waste an open bottle of wine on a single drink.

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Muddle the pineapple pieces and triple sec in the bottom of a mixing glass.

Tip

  • Cointreau is commonly used in the flirtini, but feel free to use your favorite premium triple sec instead. A top-shelf orange curaçao works well, too.

How Strong Is the Flirtini?

It's wise to remember that Cointreau is an 80-proof liqueur, and if we pair that with an 80-proof vodka, the flirtini is not as innocent as it looks. While that is true, this is no martini, and in that respect, it's a gentle cocktail with an alcohol content of about 17 percent ABV (34 proof).
