Garlic Roasted Drumsticks is a super quick and easy five-ingredient recipe made with chicken legs. You can grill or roast the meat while you baste it with the sweet and savory sauce.
This recipe can be made with chicken breasts or chicken thighs if you'd like. The chicken breasts won't take as long to cook since white meat cooks more quickly than dark meat. Just use your trusty instant-read meat thermometer to make sure the chicken is cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
You could add some herbs or spices to this recipe for a little more flavor. Add some dried thyme, basil, or oregano, or add some chili powder for some heat. Some honey mustard or Dijon mustard would be good in this glaze too.
This recipe can be doubled if you serve a crowd. Just make sure to turn the drumsticks carefully, so they don't burn, and watch them, especially as the end of cooking time nears. And you can double or triple the marinade and serve as a sauce with the chicken. Just boil the marinade for at least 2 minutes after the drumsticks are done for food safety reasons.

- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a cookie sheet with sides with foil and place the drumsticks on the foil.
In a small bowl, combine the butter, honey, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper, and brush about half of this mixture on the drumsticks.
Bake the chicken for 20 minutes, and then turn the drumsticks carefully with tongs and brush with the remaining butter mixture. Bake for 15-20 minutes longer or until a meat thermometer registers 165°F.
When you test the drumsticks with the thermometer, make sure that the probe isn't touching bone, which can give you a skewed reading.
To grill, the drumsticks, prepare and preheat an outdoor gas or electric grill for indirect cooking. Grill the drumsticks for 15 minutes, covered, then turn, cover, and grill for 15 minutes more.
Uncover the chicken and brush with the sauce frequently, grilling until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes longer until thermometer registers 165°F. Discard any remaining sauce.
