Fried eggs are just as popular on the Middle Eastern breakfast menu as they are in the United States. But instead of a simple cracked egg cooked in a bit of oil or butter, this flavorful recipe features garlic, lemon juice, and chopped fresh parsley, making for a savory and interesting egg dish that will excite the whole family.

But just because it includes more ingredients doesn't mean this recipe is complicated or will take a long time to make. This garlic fried egg recipe just adds one additional step and will be on the breakfast table in about five minutes!

What You'll Need

  • Butter or cooking spray to coat frying pan
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh parsley

How to Make It

  1. Over medium heat, melt butter in a frying pan, or coat the pan with cooking spray before heating. Add garlic and lemon juice and saute for about 2 minutes, watching to make sure the garlic doesn't burn.
  2. Crack eggs into frying pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook for about 2 minutes, until yolk begins to get a little firm.
  3. Flip eggs carefully and sprinkle again with salt and pepper. Allow to cook for 1 to 2 minutes (longer if you like a firmer yolk).
  1. Remove from frying pan, sprinkle with parsley, and serve immediately.
