This is a rich and flavorful Teriyaki sauce. Use it as a marinade, dipping sauce, or brush it on meats and vegetables right before you take them off the grill.

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce

  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger

  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, optional

  • 1 dash freshly ground black pepper

Steps to Make It

Method to Making a Marinade or Baste

  1. Warm honey in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds.

  2. Add the honey to a medium bowl and combine with remaining ingredients.

  3. Use immediately as a marinade or baste.

Method to Making a Sauce

  1. If you are interested in making a sauce, add all ingredients to a saucepan and simmer over medium-low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often.

  2. Once the mixture has reduced a bit and it coats the back of a spoon, remove from heat and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes.

  3. Drizzle on top of cooked vegetables and meat or serve on the side.
