This spicy topper can be used on more than just steak. It's great on grilled chicken or even pork chops and tenderloins. Deveining the pepper and removing the seeds helps to cut the heat. If you are not a fan of spicy foods, but would still like to try this recipe, use one or even half a jalapeño instead of two.

  • 1 cup (8 ounces) unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 jalapeños, seeded, deveined, and finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Cover bowl and place in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.

  2. To use, simply scoop a generous spoonful of the jalapeño topper onto sizzling steak, chicken, or pork.
