Janet A. Zimmerman is a former writer for The Spruce, contributing articles and recipes for two years. She has more than 20 years of experience teaching culinary classes and writing about food. Her culinary class subjects range from cocktail parties to candy, but she and her partner specialize in cooking for one or two, with Date Night classes being among their most popular.
Janet is a senior manager and board member for The Society of Culinary Arts and Letters, a non-profit organization dedicated to culinary education.

In 2010, her article on the evolution of lime cordial, "Any Other Name," won the Bert Greene Journalism Award for "Culinary Writing about Beer, Wine and/or Spirits" from the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
