Jennifer McGavin wrote for The Spruce, contributing recipes and articles for six years. She has published hundreds of German food recipes and credits much of her expertise to living in Germany for 11 years.
Jennifer's many years in Germany allowed her to develop a large repertoire of German specialties and to understand their cooking culture. She cooked for friends and family whenever possible. She is very interested in Vollwertkost (healthy foods) and regional specialties and has learned how to make apple strudel, dumplings, and many other traditional foods. Her mother-in-law, an old-school German lady, was instrumental in her coming to understand many of the traditions surrounding the table.
Jennifer McGavin has a master's degree in science and took cooking classes in Germany.
