Transform leftover Halloween candy into tasty bar cookies. Although this recipe calls for Snickers, you can easily substitute in Milky Ways, 1000-Dollar Bars, or any other treats.


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup oats (rolled, quick cooking, or regular)
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar (firmly-packed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 40 (1/4-inch) slices Snickers bars

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.​

  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat.

  4. When butter is melted, remove pan from heat and add flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and vanilla. Mix until well-combined.​

  5. Set aside about one-third of the mixture. Press the remaining mixture into prepared pan.

  6. Lay sliced Snickers bars over top, leaving a 1/4-inch border all the way around. Crumble remaining oat mixture over the sliced candy bars.​

  7. Bake 25 minutes. Cool completely, then cut into squares.
