Homemade Udon Noodles
Udon are white and thick wheat noodles. They are basically made by kneading wheat flour, salt, and water. Here is a way to make udon noodles at home.Continue to 2 of 8 below.

Adding Salted Water to the Flour
Dissolve about 1 tsp of salt in 2/3 - 3/4 cup of water. Put 2 1/2 cup of wheat flour in a bowl. Pour salted water over the flour little by little.

Mixing the Dough
Add the salted water in the bowl and mix with flour well by hands.Continue to 4 of 8 below.

Kneading the Dough
Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.Continue to 5 of 8 below.

Resting the Dough
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and press to a thin round. Set aside for a few hours.Continue to 6 of 8 below.

Flattenning the Dough
Spread some flour over a cutting board. Place the dough on the board and further flatten it with a rolling pin until the dough is about 1/8 inch thick.Continue to 7 of 8 below.

Cutting the Dough
Spread some flour over the dough. Fold the dough and cut it into 1/4 - 1/5 inch width strips.Continue to 8 of 8 below.
