I'm an avid cook and food lover who has worked in the food media for more than 20 years. I grew up mostly in North Carolina but also lived in South Louisiana, where my mom is from, so I'm a lover of Southern, Cajun, and Creole food. I moved to my current home of NYC for journalism school in my early 20s, attracted in large part by all the amazing food here—Chinese, Korean, Ethiopian, Puerto Rican, Indian, and so many more cuisines.

Megan has worked as an editor and writer for The Kitchn, EatingWell, Epicurious, Zagat, Gourmet.com, AOL, TODAY.com, Simply Recipes, Consumer Reports, and more. She is the author of the book "East Coast Scoops: Finding the Region's Best Ice Cream Parlors, Gelaterias, and Custard Stands." She loves exploring new-to-her foods, whether she's cooking them at home or eating out.
