This delicious no egg wonder cake is a chocolate cake made with cocoa and vanilla and other ingredients.
Chocolate Beet Cake
- 1 3/4 cup flour (cake flour, sifted)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 cup water (cold)
- Sift dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients and beat until almost smooth. Pour into a greased and floured a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake at 350 F for about 30 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
- Frost cake or serve with whipped topping.
