This is an orange glaze recipe. It creates a cooked spreadable icing made with cornstarch and orange juice. It also uses granulated sugar and lemon juice.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 cup orange juice (fresh)
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
Combine sugar and cornstarch in saucepan.
Add lemon and orange juices slowly and stir until smooth. Add remaining ingredients.
Cook, stirring frequently, over low heat until thick and glossy.
Cool; spread on cake. The recipe can be doubled.
