Paula Forbes is a cookbook author and critic based in Austin, Texas.
Paula began her professional food writing career as the founding editor of Eater Austin, where she was soon promoted to deputy editor at what was then-called Eater National. After that, she was a senior editor and cookbook critic at Epicurious, followed by cookbook critic stints at Lucky Peach magazine and Food52. She is currently a writer-at-large for Texas Monthly magazine, and is the author of 2018's The Austin Cookbook. She co-authors cookbooks and is the editor of Stained Page News, a cookbook newsletter.
Paula graduated with a BA in English from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
