If rib-eye steaks are a favorite of yours, you may just enjoy them on the grill with a little salt and black pepper. However, this light spice mixture adds a rich, deep flavor that makes these quick and easy steaks stand out. Serve with your favorite grilled vegetables for a delicious meal.


  • 4 rib-eye steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • 2 1/2  teaspoons (12.5 mL) onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons (10 mL) chili powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons (12.5 mL) sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) sweet paprika

Steps to Make It

  1. Combine rub ingredients in a small bowl. Allow steaks to come to room temperature before grilling.

  2. Preheat grill for high heat. Apply spice mixture to both sides of steak. Place steaks on ​the grill and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, turning once.

  3. Once steaks have reached the desired doneness, remove from heat and let rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.
