This is a recipe for raisin sauce with currant jelly and orange juice; it is nice to serve with baked ham.

What You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup jelly (currant)
  • 1/2 teaspoon zest (orange)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (light brown, firmly packed)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash allspice

How to Make It

  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat combine water, raisins, currant jelly, orange zest, and orange juice.
  3. Bring raisin sauce mixture to a boil. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, and allspice.
  4. Stir into raisin sauce mixture.
  5. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and clear.
  6. Serve raisin sauce warm with ham.
