Born in Ireland, but raised in Los Angeles to Arab parents, Sally from Passport & Plates has been a traveler and foodie from the start. In 2015, she left her advertising job to chase her dream of learning about different cultures while eating the best street food around the world. She's a firm believer that local food and travel experiences are the best form of education and shares her adventures and tips on passportandplates.com.
Sally's passion for cooking started when she was a young child, when her mom would teach her how to cook traditional dishes during her summer breaks. But the real food obsession began with the launch of "No Reservations" on The Travel Channel when she was in high school. Since then, she knew she was destined for a career in the food industry.
Although she studied business in college and eventually started working in the advertising industry, Sally's passion for good food never waned. She wrote hundreds of Yelp reviews in her spare time, avidly read food blogs and cooking magazines, and always had a recommendation when someone asked "Where should we eat?"
In 2015, Sally left her corporate job to chase her dream of traveling the world in pursuit of the best food, documenting her journey on her website, Passport & Plates. Since then, she's contributed to several online publications, including The Huffington Post and Intrepid Travel, and has built a loyal fan base of enthusiastic foodie travelers.
Sally received a B.A. in Business Administration and in Psychology from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.
