After years and years of hearing about this Ann Arbor staple, we finally made it to @zingermansdeli! They have about a million sandwiches to choose from, but I stuck to a classic - #48 aka Binny's Brooklyn Rueben. Ann Arbor has been a part of the food truck movement for the last 5 years and one of the most unique and hidden places to enjoy a sandwich is at Marks Carts. What was once just a Christmas tree lot for Downtown Home and Garden is now home to 8 different food carts contained in one courtyard with varying cuisines ranging from Indian Chaat to traditional Dumplings. Here we have Xavier an import from Spain making authentic Spanish tapas like this Jamon Iberico sandwich served with bacon wrapped dates from Simply Spanish. The cart season is from March-November and the lineup changes annually. Do you guys watch top chef? Well a very well known top chef master has made a home outside of Chicago and opened a Slurping Turtle right here on campus. Chef Takashi used to run a restaurant outside of Detroit called Tribute and has since taken his Chicago concept to the deuce! We have a battle of the buns here in town and although the buns are not made in house, the flavors are amazing. The last of the bun battle is here and most say the best bao in town. #baodown to the San Street Pho bun. Vietnamese braised beef stuffed in a house made bun with all of your normal pho fixins, hoisin, sriracha, jalepeno, sprouts, cilantro and mint!
