Sarra Sedghi enjoys unearthing food history and ruminating on the strengths and weaknesses of grocery items. She was an associate editor at Allrecipes and helmed the brand's Taste Test franchise. Sarra has over seven years of experience as a food writer.
Sarra joined Allrecipes in 2020. Prior to her current role, she served as MyRecipes' assistant editor. She has written for a number of publications including Eater, Tasting Table, Atlas Obscura, Polygon, and Paste Magazine. She was Paste's assistant food editor from 2016 to 2017. In 2021 her story "How Bootleg Fast Food Conquered Iran" was adapted into "Gastro Obscura: A Food Adventurer's Guide."
Sarra received undergraduate degrees in English and journalism at the University of Georgia in 2014. She received her Master's of Fine Arts in narrative writing from the University of Georgia in 2017.
