Shelby Vittek is a food and wine writer whose work has appeared in Food & Wine, The Kitchn, Bon Appétit, Saveur, among others. After working her first job as a cashier at Wegmans, she taught herself how to cook as a broke college student, and has loved experimenting in the kitchen ever since.
Throughout her food journalism career, Shelby has written about everything from recreating her grandmother's pierogi recipe as a way to mourn her to tracing the effects of climate change on cranberry production. She's interested in the people who grow and make our food, seasonal cooking, growing her own fruits and vegetables, cutting down on unnecessary food waste, and sharing her love of food with others.
