We purchased the Sky Solutions Anti-Fatigue Sky Mat so our reviewer could put it to the test in her home. Keep reading for our full product review.
Every day many of us dedicate a great deal of time and energy to the compromises of modern life. We want a quick meal, but we need it to be healthy. We need to exercise, but we want to protect our aging knees. And the classic: We need to get work done, but we don’t want to suffer the consequences of sitting at a desk all day. Enter: Anti-fatigue mats. Whether you spend your time coding at a standing desk or preparing culinary masterpieces in a restaurant kitchen, one thing is clear—hardwood and cement floors are no joke. Hard, unforgiving surfaces can wreak havoc on backs, knees, and feet. That’s why we decided to test out the Sky Solutions Anti-Fatigue Sky Mat. Keep reading to see if it made a difference in our day-to-day comfort.
Design: Tons of options
Sky Solutions offers its Anti-Fatigue Sky Mat in seven colors from wine red and indigo blue to gray and light brown. The mat also comes in three different size options. We went with the 29 x 39-inch mat—the middle size offering—and found it fit perfectly in our home. The largest size is nearly twice the length of ours at 70 inches, making it ideal for sizable work stations and kitchens.
While the mat is quite simple, there is one other design consideration worth mentioning—its beveled sides. The slope of the mat prevents users from tripping over the corners and edges which is extremely useful no matter your work environment.
Firmness: Like standing on a cloud
We placed the mat in front of the standing desk we use at home and proceeded to work on our computer for nearly an hour. We typically work more from our couch than our desk, so the fact that we barely noticed 60 minutes tick by is a testament to the mat’s comfort level.
After testing several anti-fatigue mat options, it was evident upon our first use that the Sky Mat is softer and thicker (at ¾ of an inch) than most competitors. As we stepped onto the mat, we felt our feet sink in slightly, but not so far as to be unsupportive. We most often used the mat barefoot, but we also tested it out with shoes and found it to be just as comfortable.

Some of this review will, inevitably, come down to personal preference, but we have to say that after testing three different anti-fatigue mats, this was the only one to completely win us over in terms of cushion and support. Sky Solutions claims that their mat reduces pressure on your lower back, feet, and knees up to 32 percent. While we have no way of verifying that statistic, we were able to stand strain-free for much longer than usual. We can’t help but mention that our cats took a liking to it as well. They immediately gravitated toward and it quickly became a new favorite nap spot.
Materials: Grippy and eco-friendly
Another important element when deciding which mat to choose for your home, kitchen, or office, is the grip. Obviously, we didn’t want something that would slide around on our hardwood floors. This mat’s underside gripped our floors with ease, not once budging from its assigned position.
Another major plus? This mat is made from an eco-friendly polyurethane foam. That means you won’t be inhaling any chemically fumes or introducing harmful substances to the pets or little ones you live with.

Ease of Cleaning: Easy peasy
We can’t imagine any anti-fatigue mat being too difficult to clean, so we’d rank this one as fairly average in the cleaning department. As mentioned above, the material is an eco-friendly polyurethane foam, but there is a slight texture on the top, making it more prone to dust and grime than smooth options. That said, the material isn’t sticky, so a quick wipe-down here and there should suffice.
Price: Bang for your buck
The Sky Mat’s MSRP ranges from roughly $45 to $100 depending on the size you go with, which is pretty middle-of-the-road as far as anti-fatigue mats go. And after testing three competitors, we would definitely say this one gives you the best bang for your buck. You can certainly find cheaper options, but they likely won’t be as durable and they may slide around on your floors. As far as we could tell, there isn’t much that differentiates pricier options, either, so we wouldn’t spend more on a competitor.
Competition: Blows competitors out of the water
If our rave (and hopefully informative) review hasn’t tipped the scale for you, then just consider the facts: The Sky Mat stays in place, is ultra-supportive, and comes in a handful of sizes and colors to best suit your needs. If you have the money, we’d definitely recommend buying it, but if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly pick, check out the $30 AmazonBasics Premium Anti-Fatigue Standing Comfort Mat (view on Amazon). It measures 36 x 20 inches and also features beveled non-curling edges so you don’t have to worry about tripping over it.
