Barbecued pork sandwiches are so easily made in the slow cooker, and pulled pork is an excellent choice for a crowd. A little honey and a dash of cayenne pepper add flavor to the purchased barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 boneless pork shoulder roast (about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds)
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 bottle (12 ounces) barbecue sauce
- 3 to 4 tablespoons honey
- Dash cayenne pepper
- 8 sandwich rolls
- Optional: cole slaw
Steps to Make It
-
Place pork shoulder roast in a lightly greased 3 1/2 to 5-quart slow cooker.
-
Combine onion, barbecue sauce, honey, and hot pepper; pour over roast.
-
Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7 to 9 hours.
-
Serve on buns, topped with slaw if desired.
