This Southern Style Cheese Burger is topped with a pat of salted butter, fresh made pimento cheese and pickled okra. It just doesn't get anymore Southern than that!

- For the Pimento Cheese:
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 5 dashes franks hot sauce
- 1/8 tsp yellow mustard
- 1/4 tbsp grated onion
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp pimentos (chopped)
- 1 tbsp cheddar
- For the Burger:
- 1/3 lb grass-fed beef
- 1/8 tsp salt
- oil or nonstick spray
- 1 pat salted butter
- 1 hamburger bun
- 1/2 tbsp. dukes mayo
- 1-2 tbsp. pimento cheese
- 1 tbsp. pickled okra (chopped)
- 2 thick slices beefsteak tomato
For the Pimento Cheese:
In a small bowl, combine the mayo, franks hot sauce, yellow mustard, grated onion, salt, sugar, garlic powder and stir until smooth.
Add in the cheddar and pimentos and set aside, letting the flavors come together as you make the burger
For the Burger:
Begin forming the meat into a thin round patty and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Add a little oil or nonstick spray to a cast iron skillet and turn the heat to medium high.
Add the the seasoned patty to the skillet and cook for a few minutes on each side until the patty is cooked through to however you take your burger!
When it's done, add the butter to the top of the burger and place the lid on the frying pan and remove from heat.
Next, toast the bun and smear each side with half the mayo. Add the tomato slices, a little pinch of salt, the butter burger, the pimento cheese, the pickled okra and finally the top half of the bun.
