This is a quick and flavorful halibut recipe. The rich color of the basting sauce gives a lot of character to this dish. Serve it on top of rice along with your favorite vegetables for a delicious, well-balanced meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound halibut steaks
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- Optional: Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 to 3 small green onion (washed and finely chopped)
Steps to Make It
-
Combine all ingredients, except the halibut, in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix until sugar is dissolved.
-
Preheat grill. Place halibut steaks on the grill and cook each side for about 5 minutes, regularly basting with the sauce. Grill until done. Halibut should be opaque through to the middle and flake easily with a fork (an internal temperature of 145 to 150 F).
-
Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve.
