Make your own spaghetti sauce mix to store in your pantry for an authentic Italian meal in minutes. Pull out of storage to add your cooked ground beef at a later date.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup onion (instant, minced)
- 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon dried green pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic (instant, minced)
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- To Make Sauce:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 (8 ounces) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounces) can tomato paste
- 2 3/4 cups tomato juice or water
- 1/3 cup seasoning mix

Gather the ingredients.

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and blend well with a wire whisk.

Spoon mixture into a tightly closed container and store in a cool, dry place.

Use the mix within 6 months. Makes four batches of spaghetti sauce.
To Make Spaghetti Sauce

Gather the ingredients.

Brown lean ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat and drain well.

Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomato juice or water, and seasoning mix.

Reduce heat and simmer spaghetti sauce for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
