Spaghetti sauce recipe with lean ground beef and mushrooms and Parmesan cheese.


  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 2 14.5 ounce cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 8 ounces mushrooms (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 1 green bell pepper (cut into chunks)
  • 1 pound spaghetti (cooked and drained)
  • Grated parmesan cheese (for serving)

Steps to Make It

  1. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms, and seasonings.

  2. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.

  3. Add green pepper chunks; simmer for 15 minutes longer.

  4. Serve sauce over spaghetti and pass the Parmesan cheese.
