This is a great recipe for tilapia. This fish is loaded with flavor and quite similar to tilapia dishes that you would find in a restaurants.
- For the Aioli:
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- For the Tilapia:
- 2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 pounds tilapia fillets
Note: while there are multiple steps in this recipe, the spicy tilapia dish is broken down into workable categories to help you plan for preparation and assembly.
Make the Aioli
Gather the ingredients.
In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.
Mix well, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve the tilapia.
Make the Tilapia
Preheat the grill. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin.
Sprinkle the spice mixture over both sides of the tilapia fillets.
Place the tilapia on the hot grill and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes over medium-high heat, turning once. The fish is done when it reaches an internal temperature of about 145 F to 150 F.
Remove from the grill and serve topped with the aioli. Enjoy!
