I know that for convenience you could just buy an already made graham cracker crust in a metal pan. Try to resist doing it. A homemade graham cracker crust tastes so much better than a store-bought one. The very best tasting graham cracker crusts are made by crushing the graham crackers yourself. Don't skimp on the butter or sugar either. Use real butter and sugar in the amounts required by the recipe. Baking the crust will pull these ingredients together. How to Make a Graham Cracker Crust - Step One
A graham cracker crust is made with graham cracker crumbs. Graham cracker crumbs can be bought. They are typically sold in a cardboard box. I prefer not to use already-made graham cracker crumbs, because the pieces are too uniform.
There are a couple of ways to make your own graham cracker crumbs. One way would be to use a food processor. I prefer to make mine the old-fashioned way with a resealable plastic bag and a rolling pin. It's a good way to release any pent-up aggression.

After hitting the bag a few times, begin moving the rolling pin back and forth crushing the graham cracker crumbs into smaller pieces.Continue to 4 of 9 below.

Baking a graham cracker crust is optional. If desired, bake the crust in an oven preheated to 350 degrees F. for 8 to 10 minutes. Another way to set the crust is to refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
