New Year's Eve is the most festive night of the year. You can celebrate it many ways: quietly at home, out at a restaurant, club, or party, or my favorite way: a party at home! These ten recipes are the ones I choose to serve. I combine appetizers, desserts, and some buffet items to make a fabulous spread. People can eat when they want, and as much as they want!
Just be sure to keep an eye on the time. After two hours, rotate all the perishable foods to keep them safe. Set your buffet table... with nice linens, candles (electric or real), and flowers. Be sure to offer lots of little plates so people can sample your delicious food and come back for more. And have a happy New Year!
01 of 06These little goodies taste like a BLT, but better. Each little cherry tomato is stuffed with a rich mixture of bacon, mayo, basil, and cheese. They're fabulous.
02 of 06A ham is a really good idea for a party. You can feed a crowd, and it looks so festive on the buffet table. This recipe is flavorful and easy and makes the ham very moist and tender. Put out some little rolls so your guests can make sandwiches.
03 of 06This famous dip is a shoe-in for the best appetizer for parties. It's rich, creamy, and flavorful. Serve it with tiny appetizer knives and some toasted baguettes.

Nothing says the holiday to me like this fragrant and crisp appetizer. Whole pecans are baked in a cinnamon scented meringue until they are crisp and have absorbed a whole bunch of butter. Yum.

Caramel corn is wonderful. But top it with different flavors of melted chocolate and this treat is elevated to a special party addition.
