A fat-free vegan couscous cereal recipe with fruity flavors! Couscous makes a quick and easy vegetarian or vegan breakfast alternative to processed cereal or if you're bored of oatmeal. Try this filling and satisfying orange and banana couscous for breakfast. It's also virtually fat-free!
If you like having couscous for breakfast, have you tried having quinoa for breakfast? You absolutely should!
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup couscous
- 1 banana, sliced
- Cinnamon and nutmeg, to taste
- Maple syrup, to taste
- Heat water and orange juice until almost boiling in a small saucepan. Add couscous, cover, and turn off heat.
- Allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes, until couscous is soft.
- Add in sliced banana, and sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg, and drizzle with just a touch of maple syrup.
Makes three servings.
